In order to meet the requirements of European emissions standards (Euro IV in 2005 and Euro V in 2008), the commercial vehicle industry has opted for a combination of modern diesel engine technology and SCR technology. SCR stands for Selective Catalytic Reduction and refers to the catalytic conversion of toxic emissions into water and nitrogen. AdBlue is the reagent for this technique.
Functions
The HLS 6010 AdBlue gauge works on the basis of the capacity comparison method developed by Hectronic. It has no moving parts and is therefore not liable to wear. The measuring process it uses is independent of pressure and temperature.
To preserve AdBlue's attributes, the only materials to come into contact with it are high-alloy stainless steel and Teflon, which are fully compatible with AdBlue. OPTILEVEL fulfils DIN 70070:2005-8. To meet AdBlue quality requirements, the gauge is subjected to an intensified cleaning process after it has been checked successfully. This procedure allows Nox reagent AdBlue to be used without any problems.
By additionally activating the H protocol on the gauge, two protocols (the H protocol and Hectronic protocol) can be operated in parallel, enabling direct connection to the POS system supporting the protocols.
